Uniform
The wearing of school uniform is a key significant feature of our Academy and our uniform code is strongly enforced. School uniform plays a valuable role in contributing to the ethos of a school and setting an appropriate tone.
In accepting a place at Oak Hill Academy, parents and pupils agree to support this aspect of our school philosophy.
Our Uniform Policy sets out our approach to requiring a uniform that is of reasonable cost and offers the best value for money for parents and carers. We avoid discrimination in line with our legal duties under the Equality Act 2010.
Our uniform is not based on gender and we give all pupils the opportunity to wear the uniform that they feel most comfortable in or that reflects their self-identified gender.
We allow for adaptions’ to our policy on the grounds of equality by asking pupils or their parents to get in touch with us.

Hair / Appearance:
Extreme hair-styles or non-natural hair colours are not permitted. Only black or green hair accessories are allowed and must not be too large. Turbans, patkas, rumals and Hijabs (Hijaabs) and head scarves must in dark green, white or black. For P.E Hijabs must be a safe stretchy material.
Shoes:
Plain black flat soled shoes should be worn. No high heels, trainers, knee length boots or open toed sandals. In Winter, boots must only be at ankle height and plain black with no attached accessories or excessive fur features.
P.E Kit:
A white collared polo shirt, black PE Shorts and trainers suitable for outdoor PE. On colder days, a black sweatshirt and/or black jogging bottoms should be worn for outdoor PE. These items must be plain and non branded.
Swimming:
Plain swimwear which is suitable for swimming lessons is required. No bikinis are permitted. A swim cap (purchasable from the school office) and a towel is also required. Pupils and parents / carers are permitted to request changes to swimwear for religious reasons.
Jewellery / Valuables:
No jewellery except for a watch (no smart watches) and one pair of small plain, gold or silver ball (no stones) stud earrings. No accessories are to be worn around the neck, wrists or ankles. Large amounts of money and expensive personal items are not permitted in school. Oak Hill Academy will not accept liability for any claim arising from theft, accidental loss or damage to personal items, money, belongings or clothing.

The school only hold a stock of school ties. However, we do have a limited number of P.E. polo shirts and school jumpers available for purchase.
